John Samuel Kwabena Asiedu, a Ghanaian ex-footballer who is currently based in the United States, has cut sod for the construction of an ultra-modern sporting complex at Komenda, Domenase in the Central Region of Ghana. The complex, which will be known as the Bright Future Sporting and Education Village, will cover 30 acres of land and feature mini-parks, hotels, first-class training facilities, gyms, and schools that will be open to the public.

In an interview with the Times Sports, Mr. Asiedu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Bright Future Sporting and Education Village, said that the talents in Ghana need the right nurturing to be on top. He noted that most of the football academies in Ghana are not up to the European level because they lack a lot with regard to infrastructure and logistics. Mr. Asiedu emphasized that the village would be an avenue where young lads will reach unprecedented heights in education and sports.

Mr Asiedu, who doubles as the Director of Coaching at FC Golden States in San Diego, California, said that the village would also have exchange programs between Bright Future and schools from the United States. He further mentioned that the project would serve both local and foreign clubs with modern-day football administration. He said that clubs in Ghana and outside are eligible to use the center for their pre-season campaigns and also host international events. Mr Asiedu added that they are looking at having the first ultra-modern European standard football academy in Africa to produce world-class footballers.

Mr Asiedu’s years of coaching experience and US certification have put him in a position to create a sporting complex that is up to European standards. Having left the shores of Ghana in 1999, he first landed in the Netherlands before moving to Belgium where he played top-flight football. He eventually moved to the United States in 2007 and has been running the FC Golden States for the past 12 years. He has also worked with Right to Dream and New Life Academy in Ghana.

The Bright Future Sporting and Education Village project will be graced by traditional leaders, ex-footballers, coaches, and other top personalities from Ghana and the United States. The project will undoubtedly be beneficial to the people of Ghana, as it will provide them with state-of-the-art sports facilities and modern education opportunities.

In conclusion, the Bright Future Sporting and Education Village will be a significant milestone in the development of sports in Ghana. Mr Asiedu’s vision to provide Ghanaian talents with the right infrastructure and logistics to compete at the highest level is admirable. The exchange programs with schools from the United States will also provide an opportunity for Ghanaian students to learn from their counterparts from the US. The project will undoubtedly attract the attention of local and international clubs, and it is poised to put Ghana on the map as a destination for sports and education.
